Real Estate
Eddins Domine Law Group conducts residential and commercial real estate closings and works with lenders, real estate agents and individuals in Kentucky and Indiana to assist with the sale and purchase of real estate. At our firm, closings are conducted by only a licensed attorney. Very often this is not the case with other law firms. Morever, the Firm also researches title, resolves title issues and provides title opinions for lenders. The Firm also drafts documents needed to complete real estate transactions, including purchase and sale contracts, promissory notes, mortgages, deeds and powers of attorney.
Finally, the Firm prepares loan closing packages, reviews all documents with the parties to the transaction and oversees the execution and recording of these documents. The Firm provides a thorough overview of the transaction to both buyers and sellers and acts promptly and diligently on behalf of lenders and their clients. The Firm also counsels real estate investors on landlord-tenant issues and offers representation in eviction/forcible detainer actions, among others.

An owner’s title insurance policy is optional in Kentucky, but highly recommended. This is the only protection property owners have against potential title defects that might come up after the dead is recorded. The owner’s title policy covers legal fees as well as your equity in the property, up to the policy limits, for problems that occurred prior to your purchase of the property but discovered after the closing.
Please handle any disputes regarding terms of the contract, price negotiation and repairs prior to the closing.
A refinance generally takes approximately 30 minutes while a purchase will normally take one (1) hour.
We want to make sure that you are comfortable with all of the documents that you are signing at closing. The attorney that handles your closing will describe in detail each document before you sign it. But if you would prefer to read over every document, we ask that you request to see your documents 24 hours before the closing so that we are able to accommodate the schedule of all of the other parties involved in the closing and finish the actual closing within the allotted one (1) hour time frame.
