Blaine received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 2003, his juris doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2006, and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the George Washington University Law School in 2009.  Blaine is a Louisville, Kentucky based lawyer with over 15 years of experience as an advocate and counselor representing numerous local, national, and global businesses.  Blaine has deep experience assisting companies with commercial litigation and counseling.  Blaine also assists individuals and businesses with estate planning, trust creation and administration, succession planning, and more.

During Blaine's career, he has also developed significant experience that includes the following representative knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Preparing estate plans, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills and more

• Asset protection and business succession planning

• Assessing risk and implementing risk mitigation and prevention strategies through practical policies that take into account daily operations.  This included proactive implementation of low-cost risk avoidance strategies.  Much of his career has focused on providing advice to medical facilities and health-care providers.

• Assisting client human resource managers in administering all HR matters including developing work culture and keeping the client in compliance with applicable law.

• Assisting clients with complex compliance matters including captive insurance, labor and employment, collective bargaining, medicare compliance, and more.

• Counseling and representing clients in litigation. He has won cases at all stages of litigation, including trial, summary judgement, and appeal.

• Auditing client practices concerning payroll, paid leave, family and medical leave, disability accommodation, workers compensation, discrimination complaints, professional licensing, and more.  This includes interfacing with third-party providers who administer such policies and negotiating with government officials.

• Counseling concerning best practices for hiring, firing and employee performance improvement.

• Protecting trade secrets, confidential information, and customer base through implementation of internal policies and restrictive covenants with key employees.

• Conducting internal investigations as necessary.
